How we make money
Short answer: sponsors and ads. Here is exactly how that works and what sponsors cannot do.
Where the money comes from
- Display ads in labelled slots on the homepage, topic pages and articles.
- Sponsored articles, marked "Sponsored by" at the top. Links in them use
rel="sponsored". - Link placements in relevant existing articles, also marked as sponsored links.
- Newsletter features in the Sunday email, labelled as such.
What sponsors cannot do
- Edit or approve independent articles, or our tool results.
- Buy a better result from the Bot X-ray. The tool runs the same maths for everyone.
- Advertise guaranteed returns, recovery services or anything we would warn readers about.
